The Sonic Body
a sound installation by Brandon LaBelle
in collaboration with Arianne MacBean, Angelina Attwell, Nicole Clarke, Shayna Keller, Eliza Pfister
The Sonic Body is a work that aims to capture the moving body in sound. Recording the energetic nuances of a group of dancers, the work re-plays the live action as residual sounds dispersed throughout a room. The work opens an audible space for the body not as an arrested image, but as an invisible noise that may start to exceed any form of representation.
